The Hawarden Players’ production, ‘Gone to Pot’ took place 21-23rd July 2016. Following the success of their winter pantomime, the ‘Ice Queen’, things are heating up, as their latest play transported audiences to an allotment where many secrets have been buried beneath the ground.
This home-grown comedy, written by group chairperson, Fiona Burdsall, introduces us to the head of the allotment committee, Brigadeer Fortesque, who threatens to turf out anyone who lets standards slip on the gardening patch. His long suffering wife has competition from Lady Smythe-Warren who seems to share more than a passion for just growing vegetables with the Brigadeer. Sharon struggles to control her kids from tormenting just about everyone, none more so than Annabelle, who just wants to start her own family, and just what are sisters Emily and Agnes hiding behind their shed door?
