Our Next Production…

Well, Summer is over, and the group are about to meet up once more, and begin rehearsals for pantomime!

So now seems like the perfect moment to announce what the show will be….. (Drumroll sound effect)

Camelot: A Knight To Remember will be our chairperson, Fiona Burdsall’s fourth consecutive self scripted pantomime for performance by the Hawarden Players.

Every year her scripts are praised for their plot, characters and for how much fun the provide audience members.  We are certain this year will be no different!

The group will be having our first meeting of the season, and informal readthrough on Tuesday 12th September, followed by auditions for parts on Thursday 14th September.  Both meetings will take place at the Hawarden Institute at 8pm.

We would love to see some new faces coming along to meet the group and join in the panto foolishness, so if you are interested, please feel free to drop by for either meeting, or drop us a message at hawarden.players@gmail.com to ask any questions you may have!

Keep checking the website, and our Facebook and Twitter pages for all the latest news

Less than a week!

Here we are, with just a few days to go!

The final touches are being put together on the group’s latest production.

The Hawarden Players are in their final few rehearsals before performances of their upcoming whodunnit ‘Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders’ start on Thursday, at the Hawarden Institute.

The play, directed by Denise Garland, tells the story of crime novelist Agatha Crusty (Pronounced Croo-sty) arriving in the usually quiet village of Chortleby for a break, only to discover some suspicious goings on centred around the All Saints Village Hall, and its committee members.

From Toby, the Vicar, and Eleanor, Chair of the committee, to Harry Knott the caretaker and identical twins Olivia and Oliver Truscott-Pratt, there are plenty of suspects. And with an investigating officer as incompetent as D.I. Twigg, there are plenty of laughs as the murders begin to pile up.

The production has the perfect mix of twists, turns, red herrings, laughs and surprises that it is bound to appeal to all who think of themselves as a local Inspector Morse or Miss Marple, all while providing an evening of great entertainment.

Performances take place Thursday 20th, Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd July at the Hawarden Institute at 7.30pm.

Tickets are available by clicking this link by calling 01244 531085, or on the door.

Tickets now on sale

Tickets are now on sale for Hawarden Players’ next show: Agatha Crusty and the Village Hall Murders!

Agatha Crusty (pronounced Croosty) is a crime novelist. She’s also pretty adept at solving crimes. And when her sister-in-law Alice invites her to spend a few days with her in the village of Chortelby, it’s not long before she gets caught up in a series of murders which seem connected with the village hall.

From Toby, the Vicar, and Eleanor, Chair of the committee, to Harry Knott the caretaker and identical twins Olivia and Oliver Truscott-Pratt, there are plenty of suspects. And with an investigating officer as incompetent as D.I. Twigg, you can guarantee it won’t be a breeze catching the culprit.

The Hawarden Players will be giving you an evening filled with both hilarity and suspense as the tension increases, as does the body count!

Performances will take place on Thursday 20th, Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd July 2017 at the Hawarden Institute.  Doors and bar open at 7pm and the show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets are on sale now, priced just £7 from this page

One For The History Books!

Another panto run comes to a close, and it’s safe to say Cinderella Rockafella was a smash hit!

Audiences packed out the Hawarden Institute for all 4 performances of this brand new (or should that be stone age) take on the pantomime classic, written by Fiona Burdsall, and directed by Kevin Dye.  Two of shows were completely sold out, allowing our largest audience to date at the venue to witness, singing, dancing, puns – both hysteical, and groan inducing, costume changes, water squirting, and a panto cow disguised as a wooly mammoth!

The Players would like to thank all those behind the scenes that make the magic happen, and congratualtions to the entire cast, not least our new faces; Fiona, Rhiannon, Jenny and Rhys, who all made their debut with the group and were fantastic from start to finish!

We will be uploading a gallery of pictures soon from Cinderella Rockafella soon for you to have a look at.  In the meantime, if you came to see the show, why not leave us your thoughts on our Facebook Page?

Up next it will be our summer play, watch this space for all the details!
