Our 2016 play is already in rehearsal and we are proud to announce it is a fantastic comedy called “Gone To Pot” and has been written by our very own Fiona Burdsall.

Set on an allotment, filled with secrets, you can be assured there is no drama, quite like a homegrown one!

Performances will take place in July, with tickets going on sale soon!  Keep checking the Facebook page and our website for all the latest news!!

De-Frosting

So there we go, another panto season whizzes by in the blink of an eye for the Hawarden Players, and what a run of shows we had!

Audiences packed out the Hawarden Institute to come and join in the fun of Ice Queen: The Panto.  Along the way, they laughed, sang, danced, and got soaked through by Victoria and the Minus Three Degrees during the cleaning routine!

The group had a blast performing the show, and have been overwhelmed by the praise they have received.  The feedback has been brilliant.

We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who had a hand in getting the show up and running, be it on stage, or behind the scenes and front of house, and once again want to say a huge thank you to all our audiences who came and supported us!

A gallery of pictures taken of the show is now available to view on our Ice Queen page along with a video of a few highlights below.

We don’t rest on our laurels at the Hawarden Players, and plans are already forming regarding our summer play which will shortly be announced, along with all the opportunities to get involved, so keep checking here, our facebook page and our twitter account for all the info!

Not Long Now!

Less than 10 days until the Hawarden Players start their run of ‘Ice Queen, A Pantomime’ and the final few pieces are coming together

The lights are up, the set is built and painted, the final few costumes are having the finishing touches added to them and it wont be long before the audiences are being let into the Hawarden Institute as The Hawarden Players bring another of their audience pleasing original pantomimes to the stage.

In this year’s show, ‘Ice Queen’, Isolde has a wicked rule over the snowy kingdom of Frostovia and all its inhabitants.  After they are accidentally transported to the land and meet citizens such as Arthur Winterbottom and Mr and Mrs Penguin, it’s up to Dame Victoria Sponge and her apprentice Gertie to save their new friends from the queen’s evil ways, all while keeping their eyes out for the sneaky snowman!

Expect twists and turns, jokes galore, singing and dancing, and a good helping of audience participation in this panto which promises to start your 2016 with a bang!

Performances take place at the Hawarden Institute on 16th 22nd & 23rd January at 7.30pm and a matinee takes place on Saturday the 16th January at 3pm.

Announcing Our Summer Play…

Following the success of ‘Mirror Mirror: The Panto’ in January, the Hawarden Players will be returning to the stage in July with the comedy ‘Murder In Play’

Murder in Play Teaser

Rehearsals are well under way already for this hysterical whodunnit which sees the inept cast of Boris Smolensky’s budget repertory production of “Murder at Priorswell Manor”, preparing for opening night.  The actors have forgotten all their notes from the director,  props are going AWOl and the doors in the set keep jamming.  Add to this the ultimate inconvenience when life imitates art and Boris’ wife, Renee, is murdered on stage, and you have the makings for a brilliant night of comedy and guesswork.

Helen Ricketts makes her directing debut for the Hawarden Players with this fantastic play, assisted by Jane Nugent. The cast list is as follows:

Renee – Fiona Burdsall
Tim – Mike Gilliland
Ginette – Sian Parry
Christa – Jane Nugent
Sophie – Debbie Dickinson
Harrison – Ian Bandy
Boris – Kevin Dye
Pat – Denise Garland

Performances take place Thursday 16th, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th July 2015 at the Hawarden Institute. Tickets will be available shortly from hawardenplayers.com.  In the meantime follow our Facebook and Twitter feeds to be kept up to date with all the Players’ latest news!

Another Panto Finished

A few days ago the final curtain fell on the Hawarden Players 2015 Pantomime, Mirror Mirror.

We had a fantastic run with brilliant audiences over all of our performances, and the group are now taking a well earned week or two off before we start work on our summer production, which will be announced here soon!

Until then, a gallery of shots from Mirror Mirror: The Panto has been uploaded onto our pictures page for you to have a look at, along with a few highlights from our dress rehearsal in the new video below.

Thank you once again for all your support during the panto, and we will see you in the summer!
